Massive transformations in digital technologies have created a growing demand for talented professionals in the financial services industries with the ability to transcend knowledge domains in finance, innovation and technology.
The part-time and online MSc in Fintech Innovation (Level 9 NFQ / 90 ECTS), delivered by Technology Ireland ICT Skillnet, in collaboration with Munster Technological University (MTU), gives an expert-led learning in areas such as digital transformation, service design, data analytics, leadership and regulation. This programme has been uniquely designed to cater for professionals demanding critical insights into fintech, seeking to address industry challenges, and looking to capitalise on new opportunities
Programme delivery
This programme is delivered online and part-time across 2-years, over four semesters, from September to June Year 1 and from September to May Year 2. The capstone project is completed in the student’s own time at the end of Year 2 and will require the participant to apply their learning in a real-time context, designing an innovative fintech solution for an organisation of their choice.
Online classes take place two nights per week per semester from 6pm to 9pm. Delivery will be via a blend of tutor-led classes, live Q&A sessions and pre-recorded lectures.
The programme will be delivered by a dedicated team of specialist lecturers in the Munster Technological University (MTU), complimented by a series of expert guest speakers from industry and academia.
Learning outcomes
This unique programme will formally certify successful students as highly skilled professionals within the fintech and the financial services sector, with an internationally recognised qualification. Upon successful completion of this programme, students will:

- Be able to appropriately analyse and interpret financial information and options.
- Develop your agility and adaptability, to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Be proficient in key innovative tools, including data analysis, machine learning, and cloud technologies.

- Be able to critically assess the operation of financial regulatory environments, both in Ireland and internationally.
- Develop practical skills and abilities to lead and manage strategic change.

Limited number of places with subsidised programme fees are available via Technology Ireland ICT Skillnet. Applicants not eligible for funding are able to apply directly to MTU and pay the full course fees.
